Cellulosic fiber: mechanical fibrillation-morphology-rheology relationships

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study aims to investigate the relationship between mechanical fibrillation, morphological properties, and rheological behavior of cellulosic fiber. Three types fibers were obtained by adjusting namely squashed cellulose, incompletely nanofibrillated completely respectively. The cellulose with large size small aspect ratio had low entanglement capacity, thus forming a weak fiber network. corresponding suspension exhibited viscosity, elastic behavior, yield stress, dynamic stability. An obviously increasing capacity observed resulting in entangled network structure. Hence, more fibrillation higher stronger gel-like bigger stress. Moreover, extremely structure has better anti-deformation recovery capacity. We revealed fundamental insights into morphologies properties fiber, paving way for designing cellulose-based materials.

Rheology–morphology relationships in nylon–LCP hybrid composites

Rheological behaviors of hybrid composite systems consisting of liquid crystalline polymer (LCP), short glass fibers and toughened nylon 66 were characterized with capillary rheometry. The results were compared with the rheological behavior of untoughened nylon/ glass fiber/LCP hybrid composites to establish the role of elastomers and glass fibers on LCP fibrillation. Results showed that, compa...

Modeling pulp fiber suspension rheology

Rheological properties of pulp suspensions play a very important role in the industry, mainly due to the consumption of energy for transporting pulp among the different parts of the paper mill. In this work, we determined the rheology of longand short-fiber bleached kraft pulp suspensions by using a new rotational viscometer especially designed for their analysis. The experimental rheograms wer...

Cellulosic Fiber for Odor and Ph Control

A new approach to odor and pH control in medical and hygiene care applications relies on a treatment of absorbent fluff with selected enzyme inhibitors. Cellulose fiber was found to be a convenient carrier for some chemicals which modify the structure of an enzyme and/or block its active site. In an absorbent system exposed for example to body liquids containing urea, selected substances, when ...
